Kaib Returns
An Invited Friend
In 1968, Eduard Kaib and his family were invited to visit Algona and the nativity scene. Many newspaper articles ran about his return and his reaction to the continued display of the nativity scene he and 5 of his fellow POWs created while interned at Camp Algona during the War. During his visit, Kaib painted the mural of Bethlehem on the back wall of the current display. He also brought a plastic nativity scene as a gift.
