Following a Star
A Long Journey
On the left side of the scene, the Magi follow the star to Bethlehem. The Magi in red bears his gift and has a page carry the train of his cloak. These two figures form a single object. The blue Magi points towards Bethlehem while the green Magi raises his arms in praise.
The train that follows the Magi has four camels. On average, the camels weigh 500 pounds. The kneeling camel is the most decorated. Perhaps as a reflection of their surroundings, the emblem on the side of the camel is very similar to the Camp Algona unit crest.
Each figure is mounted on a board to help stabilize the figure; each Magi stands approximately 3 feet tall.
